Metro Kitty Calli Needs a Home!--ADOPTED!!!

This is Calli, she is a beautiful long haired calico who came to Metro as a stray on September 3, 2011.  We found that she had already been spayed but we gave her her necessary vaccinations and a good grooming!  She is about 3 years old.  Her FIV/FELV test came back as a weak false positive.  This means that she MAY carry a weak strain of the disease that could be passed to kittens-but since she is spayed, no worries!  She is very healthy now and will be for many years to come.  She is a quiet kitty and enjoy sitting on laps and just being loved.  Contact Metro at 235-8398.

Metro Kitty Redman Needs a Home!

This is adorable Redman with his beautiful blue eyes and chubby cheeks! He came into Metro on Aug. 25th as a stray. P2H has recently sponsored him and he's been neutered, vaccinated, tested NEGATIVE for FIV/FELV, and given a clean bill of health. He's about 4 years old, and very affectionate and playful. Won't you please adopt him today? Contact Metro at 235-8398.

Precious Little Injured Metro Kitten Needs a Home

This lil kitten (we're pretty sure it's a "she") was just pulled from Metro because she came in with an abscess wound and needed medical care and twice daily hot packs. So, she's in foster right now until next Tuesday, but then her foster mom is leaving town so I'd LOVE to have a home for her by then. What a doll! Please contact me if you're interested. Chelsea--P2H Sponsored Metro Dog Needs a Home!--ADOPTED!!!

Chelsea is a P2H sponsored Metro dog. She is a year and a half to two years old. She is absolutely beautiful, and smart and sweet--she loves to go for walks and to be petted. She thinks she's a lap dog. She has been spayed, fully vaccinated and canine disease tested NEGATIVE. She knows basic commands of sit, stay, and shake. She is house trained and crate trained. She does not run off when unleashed. The ONLY problem with Chelsea is that whomever had her, was apparently not very nice to her and has made her VERY food aggressive around other pets. I believe that eventually she would get over this, but it isn't safe to have her with another pet at this point. And it may not be a good idea for her to be around small children that might try to take a treat from her.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THOUGH, WHAT A WONDERFUL DOG SHE IS!!! For an adult, as an only pet, she would be absolutely perfect! I would keep her myself, except I have other pets.
PLEASE cross-post this to everyone. Transport is available. She is the SWEETEST of sweet dogs and it breaks my heart to have to send her back to Metro. There HAS to be someone out there who would be a perfect fit for this lovely girl.
Contact me for more information.

Senior Dogs Needs a Home!

Her history is sad, my son adopted her (in 2002) and she went to work with him, rode in the back of his truck etc... Then he went to work in the methane field he put her in a pen for a few years then came home from Methane and had a new dog which now goes with him in the truck and lives in the house. I feel very bad as he was not raised to treat animals this way. My husband and I tried to keep her but she is territorial with my back yard and does not like my husbands boxer. My husband says I must find her a home. The shelter here cannot take her, she is on the list for the Sheridan Shelter, Gillette said they would euthanize her. I must find something for her this week. thanks for your help. Dana

Wyoming Animal Rescue Rallies to Help Cody Shelter Through Disaster

Most of you know that the Cody shelter is in dire straights.  Their former shelter manager quit paying the bills in November and embezzeled at least $10,000.00.  She cross-contaminated cats with upper respiratory infections and ringworm with healthy cats and now they have 74 cats that are quarantined and cannot be adopted.  They are double up on dogs in kennels.  They are out of meds and out of food and out of money.
Today we got an updated email that someone had donated medication for the animals (Hooray!) and that they were getting dog food in but were in desperate need of cat food, kitten food, and kitten milk replacement ('tis kitten season again, unfortunately).
The Paws2Help board of directors okayed expenditure of $100 of our funds to aid this shelter.  Jim and I went to Walmart and bought all cat and kitten food and milk replacement, which is what the shelter said they were most in need of.  We bought both canned and dry.  We spent $110+ change which got us quite a bit.  Tina Schmidt and Jan Dodson (Rainbow Rescue) met us there and both contributed some cat/kitten supplies as well.  I talked to Kim Blonigen (Rescue Rangers) who had raised $350 in donations--mostly dog lovers since Kim only rescues dogs, but she was going to split the donations between dog and cat food, with emphasis on the cat food.
Cheryl Hobson (Big Sky Rottie Rescue) was on her way to deliver some  donations of dog food.
A HUGE thank you to Holly Moen for coordinating all of our efforts and to her husband, Al, for letting us all load up his 4-Runner.  He will be delivering the supplies to the shelter's door later today.
I am in AWE of how a small and sparsely populated state like Wyoming can come together...and all of us here in Casper...have come together, to help out another shelter in need, and to provide what is needed for the homeless animals who have no voice.
Thanks to everyone!  I hope that this will help the Cody shelter out until their community can respond to their needs.
